MELBOURNE BABY!!!

Hey dudes! - well we have arrived safely in Melbourne and to say it is different from sydney is an understatment!!! We have after a few funny episodes worked out how to use the famous tram system and are getting pretty good at it!!

Due to unforseen money shortages, we have started night shifts almost straight away. we did however give ourselves the first night off and went out with a few lads from the hostel in sydney. Lets just say me and kate were very rough round the edges the next day!!! So far the hospital work has been much better than Sydney. The only drawback is there isn't so much work here. we didn't get shifts on friday or saturday night. So we went out on the friday and went to the cinema on the saturday. Since then Kate has worked at a rehabilitation unit and i ended up in charge of a 125 bedded nursing home in the middle fo nowhere!!!! We are however settling in well and are really enjoying Melbourne. We have signed on at a gym and are trying to head there at least 5 times a week.

Other than that - Andrea and Matt are arriving on sunday for a week and Stevie is visting me on friday - so we will be very busy. We are going to an AFL game on sunday and neighbours tours etc next week, so i promise there will be some photo's!!

Summer Bay

After our night in Bondi - me and Kate caught the ferry over to Manly and then the bus to Collaroy Beach. We stayed in a very plush YHA which had a swimming pool!!! We decided to take the bus to Palm Beach (aka summer bay) and had photo's taken with the Surf shack!! awesome and to top it off the waves were HUGE!!!

Bondi to Coogee Walk

Did the walk from Coogee beach to Bondi Beach. Took about 2 hours. We walked around the cliff tops and saw all the beaches and little coves - amazing. There is also a huge graveyard which is enormous!! We ended up in bondi and sunbathed on the beach. If you look at the photo album you will see photo's of some awesome graffitti - it is the famous one's from bondi beach!

Night at Coogee

After the Blue mountains me and Kate stayed a night at Coogee at a backpackers place called 'Surfside'. We spent the night having a bbq on the beach with Aaron. We splashed out and had chicken skewers and prawns!!!!

Blue Mountains

Arrived in the Blue Mountains on the sunday morning and promptly slept most of the first day due to an excessive night on saturday!!! Had a lovely dinner at a cute little restaurant in the evening and stayed at what can only be described as a hippy commune!!! It had log burning fires and we did yoga in the evenings!!! The next day we headed out early only to find the mist and rain had descended on Katoomba and we couldn't see anything!!! Decided to retreat back to hostel for lunch and then went out again in the afternoon. Much clearer weather thankfully. We went on the skyway over the ridge and then took the vertical rainway (yes vertical!!!) down to the rainforest floor. Did a few walks around the bottom and then caught the cable car back to the top. Had a chilled night at the hostel and dinner at the local pub. Went out again on our last day and the sun was shinning. We got loads of photo's with the 3 sisters and also went to Leura Cascades. It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls i have ever seen!!!

Gay Night

We have a couple of gay friends from the hostel and we always make them come to stright bars, so we decided to go gay for the night!! Gary and Aaron (see picture) took us to the Columbian Hotel for a few cheekies and then we headed to Stonewall Club. One f the guys from the hostel called Andrew came with us. He's a bit full of himself and quite cocky - so the boys decided to play a bit of a practical joke on him!! They managed to get one of Sydney's most famous drag queens to come onto Andrew (note - the queen was not in women's clothing that night). Andrew was a really good sport, but you have to check out the photo's on the online photo album as the drag queen was quite fruity!!!!www.picasaweb.google.com/cazspaz
After Stonewall we headed to Scruffy Murphy's for a few end of the night drinks and a boogie on the dance floor - what a quality night!
